Crisp Media Wins Interactive Advertising Bureau's Mobile Rising Stars Competition
New York, NY (February 27, 2012) -- Crisp Media (www.crispmedia.com), the leading mobile technology and services provider of premium rich media advertising, today announced it has been named a winner of the Interactive Advertising Bureau's (IAB) inaugural Mobile Rising Stars competition.
Out of more than 60 entries, the 'Adhesion' banner format was named a winning ad product concept. Crisp also won with the 'Capsize' format in the "Full Page" category of the competition. Only Crisp and Microsoft were standalone winners of the Mobile Rising Stars competition.
Crisp will receive the awards at the 2012 IAB Annual Leadership Meeting, which is taking place February 26-28 at the Fontainebleau in Miami, FL.
"We are extremely honored to be named one of the first-ever Mobile Rising Stars by the IAB and distinguished as one of mobile advertising's progressive brands," said Jason Young, CEO of Crisp Media. "Core to Crisp is developing innovative premium mobile solutions for brand advertisers. Our Adhesion and Capsize formats are currently active in the marketplace, leveraged by brand marketers, agencies, and publishers, and are delivering tremendous ROI and value for our customers."
"We look forward to working with the IAB Mobile Center and with various working groups to aid in the implementation and adoption of these successful ad products," said Xavier Facon, CTO of Crisp Media. "Crisp was already known for its role in spearheading open technical standards for mobile advertising, so we are grateful that also our unique creative abilities are being recognized."
Rising Star Ad Concept
Crisp's Adhesion was one of five winning Rising Star Ad Concepts. Adhesion is a persistent, above-the-fold, overlay ad placement that outperforms standard banners by more than 2 to 1. The banner format is the perfect springboard for mobile rich media campaigns on smartphones and tablets as ads are kept in view while scrolling vertically up and down the page or when content is pinched and zoomed. Adhesion supports Expandables, Social and Video ad formats, as well as a bevy of interactive ad features. An Adhesion demo is available here: http://vimeo.com/30736421. Examples of campaigns that leveraged Adhesion are here in Crisp's showcase: www.crispmedia.com/ZzD.
IAB Full Page Mobile Rising Star
Capsize is one of several formats that were recognized in the "Full Page" category of the competition. This feature eliminates the need for multiple creative sizes, and maintains the beauty of the ad in both portrait and landscape views. Capsize uses a background image design that is safe for both portrait and landscape cropping, and leverages CSS to automatically adjust the width and height of foreground elements without any flickering or reloading that could degrade the user experience. For more information on Capsize, visit: www.crispmedia.com/content/ad-features.
The judging committee evaluated more than 60 entries to arrive at the five creative ad product concepts that will become the IAB's first-ever Mobile Rising Stars. The evaluation process included quantitative scoring and qualitative discussion to determine the final winners. In total, five Mobile Rising Stars Ad Concepts have been named winners.
Crisp has also been selected to participate in the IAB Mobile Rising Stars Full Page working group with fellow mobile innovators to define, build, and implement the IAB Full Page Mobile Rising Star. The IAB Rising Stars will now be evaluated in the marketplace based on consumer and business adoption, and the new IAB standard ad units will be graduated in the first quarter of 2013 to official IAB Standard Ad Unit status.
